
Adarsh Gourav is set to make his Telugu cinema debut with a psychological horror film, directed by Baba Shashank and produced by Jahnavi, the daughter of renowned producer D.V.V. Danayya, slated for release in 2025. Following his acclaimed performance in The White Tiger, Adarsh is eager to dive into the captivating narrative of this new project.
Adarsh Gourav CONFIRMS His Telugu Debut
An insider reveals, “Jahnavi, who is foraying into direction with the yet-untitled film, will launch new faces alongside Adarsh. A month-long schedule begins in Hyderabad next week.” The yet-untitled film, produced by Jahnavi and directed by Baba Shashank, promises to be a unique venture for the actor.
When mid-day contacted Adarsh Gourav, he confirmed the development. He said, “I’ve always believed that great stories transcend language. The south film industry has consistently delivered some of the most innovative movies, and I’m excited to finally be a part of it. This project, in particular, is unlike anything I’ve ever done. With this, [I will explore] the psychological horror genre, and it has a gripping story that immediately drew me in.”
Adarsh emphasized that he has never explored the psychological horror genre before, expressing enthusiasm for the project’s intense storyline. “This film is particularly special because it marks my first foray into psychological horror. The gripping plot immediately captivated me. Collaborating with a visionary team and making my Telugu debut with Jahnavi’s production is genuinely exciting. I can’t wait for audiences to experience what we’re bringing to life,” he added.
Adarsh Gourav’s Career Journey
Adarsh began his acting career in 2010 with My Name Is Khan and gained international recognition for his role as Balram Halwai in The White Tiger, which earned him a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role. His notable works include Hostel Daze, the comic thriller series Guns & Gulaabs, and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.
His most recent project, Superboys of Malegaon, is a coming-of-age film directed by Reema Kagti and penned by Varun Grover. Inspired by the 2008 documentary Supermen of Malegaon, the film tells the story of Nasir Shaikh and other amateur filmmakers from the small town of Malegaon, and also stars Vineet Kumar Singh, Shashank Arora, and Anuj Singh Duhan.
